Ann Kelly

Formerly a care worker from Flitwick, Bedfordshire, and currently a freelance researcher, Ann first appeared on Mastermind in 1987, taking 'The Life and Works of Sean O'Casey' as her subject. She returned ten years later to take 'The Life and Music of Buddy Holly'. Excepting the special case of Sheila Altree, Ann was the first person to appear on three separate Mastermind series, as she also competed in the radio programme in 1998, offering 'The Life and Works of Noel Coward'.

In 2004, Ann returned to the relaunched programme, taking 'The TV Series Only Fools and Horses' and managing to upset the Daily Express, who accused her of 'dumbing down' Mastermind. Ann is the only contestant apart from Helena Rogers to appear on four series of the BBC version of the programme.

Away from television, Ann is a committee member of the Quiz League of London and plays for the team 'Waterloo Sunset'. She is also a committee member of the Mastermind Club.
