Hazel Martin

A project engineer from Camberley, Surrey, who appeared on Mastermind in 1977, taking 'Lady Members of the House of Commons' as her subject. Never given to public speaking before her turn in the black chair, Hazel subsequently lost her reserve and gave a memorable speech at the 1988 Conservative Conference about devastation of the Surrey countryside - although she denied that she was aspiring to join the people celebrated in her specialised subject. Hazel is now Hazel Prowse.
