Rosemary Meechan

A teacher of French and German from Kilsyth in Stirlingshire, who took part in Mastermind in 1981, taking 'The Life of Robert the Bruce' as her subject. Rosemary was unmarried, but Magnus Magnusson inadvertently referred to her as Mrs Meechan, for which he later apologised. It was an innocuous mistake, but it did not stop magnus being savaged by the Guardian's 'Naked Ape' column on an absurd charge of sexism.
