Anthony Martin

Anthony, A Local Government Officer from Down St. Mary, Devon is famous for having been Fifteen to One champion three times, in series 6, 8 & 11. He has made the most appearances on the show, 20 in all. He made 18 proper appearances & 2 for special shows (champion of champions and the Millenium Quiz). He survived in series 2, 3 & 4 not making it to the grand final & then he appeared in the series 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 grand finals. He used to be a libarian from Kirkby and Prescot, in the borough of Knowsley, Merseyside. (Sean Richardson).

In Anthony Martin's first Grand Final, he got through to the last three with Chris Russon and Leslie Martin - his own father. Poor Chris was stuck in the middle and was most frequently nominated. Anthony won with Chris the last to be eliminated.

Anthony has also appeared on Mastermind in 1978 and on Brain of Britain in 1983 and 1999.

It's interesting that, although Anthony Martin won Fifteen to One three times, he may never have won at all. In series 4, he made it to the last three in his heat, but was knocked out after accumulating over 200 points. In series 5, William G. Stewart took the unusual step of inviting back the highest scoring losers as well as the winners. Hence Anthony Martin was invited back and went on to win!
