Robert Robinson

Many thanks to Christian Lloyd (University of East Anglia) for this information.

Born in suburban London, Robert Robinson progressed via grammar school and Oxford. He was a film and television critic for newspapers, as well as gossip columnist for The Sunday Times, before appearing on screen as the presenter of a film review programme, Picture Parade. He hosts Brain of Britain, and has also been presenter of Radio 4's 'Today' and 'Stop the Week' current affairs programmes. He hosted 'Call My Bluff' on TV during the 70s, and was the original host of Points Of View, that well-known breeding-ground for tough-talking quiz-show hosts.

He has written two novels: "Landscape with Dead Dons" (1956) and "The Conspiracy" (1968). His autobiography, entitled "Skip All That", has just come out in paperback.
